Peter Dueben is Head of the Earth System Modelling Section at ECMWF, coordinator of the TerraDT sister initiative WeatherGenerator and a leading expert in the future of numerical weather prediction and climate modelling. His work focuses on integrating machine learning, high-performance computing and next-generation modelling approaches into operational Earth system science. Dueben has been closely involved in Destination Earth and the evolution of digital twin technologies for climate and weather applications. His expertise is highly relevant to TerraDT’s development of modular, kilometre-scale Earth system digital twins capable of leveraging advanced HPC and AI techniques. He brings strategic insight into the convergence of data-driven and physics-based modelling approaches.
